The Summer sun is quickly approaching and for whatever reason life seems busier than ever and I have not been feeling like Pilates is giving me the body response I desire so I'm turning up the heat and committing to 2 walks a day! Now before you say I'm getting intense; I want you to know that this feels so good to me. It's so simple and I can do it anywhere, and it's been feeling like the easiest commitment I've ever made. I like to time my 1st walk for the morning and listen to Myron Golden or watch a YouTube video, 2nd walk can be mid-day after lunch to move that glycogen and help my body know what to do with my food, or if I don't get that 2nd one in mid-day, I'll get on my treadmill in the evening and watch YouTube. Either way I like to get my body going first thing with a simple calorie deficit by walking, and I like to get another walk in for my body to optimize my food intake for the day.
There are so many more benefits that come with walking and its something you can do anywhere and always stay on track with.
Walking twice a day for 30 minutes can have significant benefits for a busy mom's health and weight, especially when it comes to increasing fitness and managing blood sugar levels. Here's how:
Improved Fitness: Regular walking increases cardiovascular fitness, strengthens muscles, and improves endurance. By walking twice a day, a busy mom can gradually build up her fitness level, making everyday activities feel less taxing and improving overall stamina.
Weight Management: Walking burns calories, which can contribute to weight loss or weight management when combined with a healthy diet. While individual weight loss results may vary, incorporating two 30-minute walks into the daily routine can help create a calorie deficit, aiding in weight loss over time.
Increased Energy Levels: Physical activity, such as walking, boosts endorphin levels in the body, leading to increased energy levels and reduced feelings of fatigue. Busy moms can benefit from the energy boost provided by regular walking, helping them stay alert and productive throughout the day.
Stress Reduction: Walking is known to reduce stress levels and promote relaxation. Taking two short walks each day can provide busy moms with a much-needed break from their hectic schedules, allowing them to clear their minds and recharge mentally.
Improved Mood: Physical activity releases feel-good hormones called endorphins, which can elevate mood and reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. Busy moms juggling multiple responsibilities can experience mood-enhancing benefits from incorporating regular walks into their routine.
Better Blood Sugar Control: Walking has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, which helps regulate blood sugar levels. By engaging in regular physical activity like walking, busy moms can better manage their blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Heart Health: Walking is a low-impact aerobic exercise that can improve heart health by lowering blood pressure, reducing cholesterol levels, and improving circulation. Busy moms who prioritize regular walks can lower their risk of heart disease and other cardiovascular conditions.
Bone Strength: Weight-bearing exercises like walking help maintain bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. By walking regularly, busy moms can support bone health and decrease the likelihood of fractures and other bone-related issues as they age.
Incorporating two 30-minute walks into the daily routine can lead to numerous health benefits for busy moms, including improved fitness, weight management, increased energy levels, stress reduction, mood enhancement, better blood sugar control, heart health, and stronger bones. These benefits can contribute to overall well-being and quality of life, making walking a valuable addition to any busy mom's routine.
